  • Google has a “reputation” and that’s a good thing.

A reputation is something that can differentiate the good from the bad, the nice from the naughty, and the dollars from the cents.  How much so?  Ask Google.

The Harris Interactive 9th annual Reputation Quotient was just released and Google was number 1.  For Google becoming the most reputable company in America is a combination of their product offerings, vision, social responsibility, and the way they treat their employees.  Having a good product and a strong culture can take a company far, especially in the eyes of the beholder.  When the public views a company in a positive light, it sells itself.

What does this mean for a company that is looking to compete with a positively recognized organization (rhymes with shmashoe)?  Does it become”if you can’t beat them join them?”  Does it become an effort of changing your company stance? Do you call in your advertising agency?  Or is it simply not competing with them?  Any thoughts?
