I totally agree with you and have seen fear-based advertising backfire on us as well (unless you subscribe to the &quot;any controversy is good controversy&quot; belief).  The trick is to allow the consumer to still feel empowered and in control.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Therefore, with pharma, consumers need to feel like they have discovered certain content and are managing it and sharing it with others (and are smart -- even smarter than their physicians -- because of it).  The message may not be heavy handed (therefore, not all mediums may be able to support it), but seeded in a way that someone says, &quot;Oh wow, I didn&#039;t realize that, but I need it and need to tell my friends about it.&quot; I give you credit for tackling pharma though . . . not an easy task.&quot;&lt;/p&gt;
